Eligibility Details
- Must have a Second Class M.Sc. in Geography OR
- M.Tech. in Geology OR
- M.Tech. in Mining Engineering
- Degree must be from a recognized university or institution.
- Must have knowledge of Hindi language.
- Note on CGPA/Grade:
- If the degree uses CGPA/Grade, it must be converted into a percentage.
- Use the conversion formula of the university/board for that year.
- Attach the formula with your application.
- If no formula is available, use AICTE rules for conversion.
Selection Procedure
1. Written Examination
- There will be 3 objective-type papers, each of 100 marks and 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Subjects:
- Paper 1: General Studies (सामान्य अध्ययन)
- Paper 2: Mining OR Geology (based on your qualification)
- Paper 3: Mineral Law, Policy, Regulation, etc.
- No re-evaluation or re-checking allowed.
2. Interview
- Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for the interview.
- Biometric verification will be done during the interview.
3. Final Merit List
- Based on total marks from written exam + interview.
- Tie-breaking rules:
- Higher written exam marks rank higher.
- If still tied, older candidate gets higher rank.
- Final decision by the Commission.

How to Apply for BPSC MDO Recruitment 2025
1. One Time Registration (OTR)
- Visit the official BPSC website.
- Click on “New User Registration” if you are not already registered.
- Existing users can log in using their credentials.
- Complete the OTR by filling in the following steps:
- Step 1: Personal Information
- Step 2: Address Information
- Step 3: Other Information
- Step 4: Qualification Information
- Enter marks/CGPA, subject, passing year, and institution details.
- Convert marks to percentages if required.
- Step 5: Experience Information (if applicable)
- Step 6: Upload Photo/Signature and Lock Profile
- Photo: 20kb or less, 150–200 pixels.
- Signature: 20kb or less, 150–320 pixels.
- Review all information carefully and lock the profile. Changes cannot be made after locking.
2. Applying for Advertisement No. 36/2025
- Log in to your BPSC account after completing and locking the OTR.
- Go to “Ongoing/Active Advertisements”.
- Locate Advertisement No. 36/2025 and click the “View” button.
- Click on “Check Advertisement Criteria” to verify your eligibility.
- Proceed to “Apply and Submit Fees”.
- Click “Apply Now” if payment is pending or “Payment History” if already paid.
- The application form will appear pre-filled from your OTR data.
- Complete any remaining fields if required.
- Upload scanned images of your passport-sized photograph and signature in the correct format.
- Ensure your registered mobile number and email address are correct for future communication.
3. Post-Application Steps
- After submitting the application, download and print a copy of the submitted form.
- Keep the hard copy of the form and all relevant documents/certificates safely.
- These documents will be required during the interview or verification process.
