Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
Teaching Classes: IX to XII
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks (aggregate) from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. with 50% marks (NCTE approved).
- Proficiency in English & Hindi, and computer knowledge.
Subject-wise Requirements:
- English: MA in English
- Hindi: MA in Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi at graduation
- Maths: M.Sc. in Maths/Applied Maths
- Physics: M.Sc. in Physics/Applied/Nuclear/Electronics
- Chemistry: M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry
- Biology: M.Sc. in Botany/Zoology/Life Science (Botany/Zoology at graduation mandatory)
- History / Geography / Pol. Science / Psychology / Economics / Home Science: Master’s in respective subject
- Commerce:
- Accountancy: M.Com. in Accountancy
- Business Studies: M.Com. in Business Studies
- Fine Arts: Master’s in Fine Arts
- Biotechnology: M.Sc. in Biotechnology

- CTET/TET is mandatory
- Proficiency in English & Hindi, and computer knowledge.
Subject-wise Requirements:
- English / Hindi / Sanskrit: Subject must be studied in all 3 years of graduation
- Social Studies (S.St.): Any two of History, Geography, Pol. Science, Economics (one must be History or Geo.)
- Maths: Maths + any two of Physics, Chemistry, Stats, CS, Economics
- Science: Any two of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology
- Computer Science: BCA / B.Sc. (CS) / B.Tech (CS/IT) OR Any Graduation + DOEACC ‘A’ level
- Physical Education:
- Graduation in PE or elective PE with 50%
- OR variations with sports achievements/NCC certificates as per NCTE norms
- B.P.Ed. (1 year minimum, NCTE recognized)
Primary Teacher (PRT)
Teaching Classes: I to V
Educational Qualification:
- Graduation with 50% marks
- D.El.Ed. / B.El.Ed. (NCTE approved)
- OR B.Ed. for in-service APS teachers (before 11 Aug 2023) with future Bridge Course
- CTET/TET is mandatory
- Bilingual teaching & computer knowledge required
PRT (Physical Education):
- Same criteria as TGT Physical Education
- B.P.Ed. (min. 1-year, NCTE approved)
General Notes:
- Post-Graduates with ≥50% can apply for TGT/PRT, even if graduation marks <50%.
- All qualifications must be as per NCTE & CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws.
- Experience not required for fresh candidates under 40 years.
Selection Procedure
- 1. Online Screening Test (OST):
- Computer-based exam on 20 & 21 September 2025 (Reserve dates: 22 & 23 Sept).
- Conducted centrally by HQ AWES.
- Lifetime valid score card is issued.
- Not mandatory for interview, but preferred and carries weightage.
- Selected without OST? Must pass it within 2 years with minimum 50% score.
- Existing score card holders can reappear to improve score or apply for other posts.
- 2. Announcement of Vacancies & Application:
- After OST result, check school websites/newspapers for job openings.
- Apply directly to schools as per their individual announcements.
- 3. Interview:
- Shortlisted candidates are called based on school vacancies.
- May be held at the school or a different nearby location.
- 4. Evaluation of Skills:
- Teaching skills and computer proficiency will be tested.
- Language teachers must appear for essay & comprehension test.
- Schools may also conduct computer tests for all subjects.
- 5. Final Selection & Appointment:
- Done by the school’s Board of Administration / Management Committee.
- Candidates can be appointed in any school within a cluster of schools.
