| Hindi | A master’s degree in Hindi is required. Sanskrit must have been studied in BA. Candidates also need an NCTE-approved B.Ed. |
| English, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Commerce, Psychology, Sanskrit, Urdu and Geography | Candidates need a master’s degree in the chosen subject and an NCTE-approved B.Ed. |
| History | A master’s degree in Ancient, Medieval or Modern History is required with an NCTE-approved B.Ed. |
| Art | A postgraduate degree in Drawing and Painting is required along with an NCTE-approved B.Ed. |
| Education | Candidates need a master’s degree in Psychology or Education and an NCTE-approved B.Ed. |
| Music Vocal / Music Instrumental | A postgraduate Music degree is accepted. A relevant bachelor’s degree with the prescribed Music specialisation may also qualify. |

Tie-Breaking Order
- The higher written-exam score will be checked first.
- If written marks are equal, the higher interview score will decide the order.
- The postgraduate percentage will be compared next.
- After that, the teacher-training qualification percentage will be considered.
- If the tie continues, the older candidate will receive the higher position.
