Selection Procedure
First Stage: Written Examination (Pratham Charan)
- Scrutiny of Applications: After the scrutiny of online application forms, eligible candidates will be called for the written examination.
- Exam Level: The written exam will be equivalent to the 10th class (Matric) level of the Bihar School Examination Committee or its equivalent.
- Total Marks: 100 marks
- Question Type: Objective-type questions

- Mathematics
- Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics)
- Science (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany)
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs
- Exam Duration: 2 hours
- Total Questions: 100 questions (1 mark for each correct answer)
- Exam Mode: OMR sheet-based
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates scoring less than 30% marks will be declared unsuccessful and will not be eligible for the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Selection for Physical Efficiency Test: Based on written exam marks, five times the number of advertised vacancies for each reservation category will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Nature of Exam: The written examination is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be included in the final merit list. It serves only as a screening test for the Physical Efficiency Test.
Second Stage: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Dwitiya Charan)
- Eligibility: Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Mandatory Requirement: It is compulsory for candidates to appear and qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Total Marks: 100 marks
- Events:
- Race (Daudd)
- Shot Put (Gola Fenk)
- High Jump (Oonchi Kood)
- Qualification: Candidates must qualify separately in each of the three events. Failure to meet the minimum standards in any event will lead to disqualification.
- Race Condition: Only those candidates who complete the race within the stipulated time will be allowed to participate in the Shot Put and High Jump events.
- Physical Standards Measurement: Height, chest (for males), and weight (for females and transgender candidates) will be measured, but no marks will be awarded for these. However, failing to meet the prescribed standards will lead to disqualification.
Third Stage: Document Verification (Tritiya Charan)
- Verification Process: Candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will be called for document verification.
- Documents to be Verified:
- Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets
- Age proof (birth certificate)
- Identity proof
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate
- Non-Creamy Layer certificate (if applicable)
- EWS certificate (if applicable)
- Certificates for dependents of freedom fighters (if applicable)
- Transgender identity certificate (if applicable)
- Home guard training certificate (if applicable)
- Requirement: Candidates must appear with original documents and self-attested photocopies at the specified time and place.
- Consequence of Non-Submission: Failure to produce the required documents on the scheduled date may lead to disqualification.
Final Merit List
- Basis of Merit: The final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the Physical Efficiency Test (Race, High Jump, and Shot Put).
- Tie-Breaking Criteria:
- Older candidate will be placed higher.
- If the date of birth is the same, the candidate with higher educational qualification will be placed higher.
- If both are still the same, the candidate’s position will be determined by the alphabetical order of their name as per the 10th board certificate.
- Service Allocation: Finally selected candidates will be allocated services based on their preferences indicated in the application form.
