- Reasoning covers number and figure series, patterns, coding, directions and similarities.

- Maths covers whole numbers, decimals, fractions, averages, percentages, profit and loss, time and work, and measurements.
- The language section checks basic Hindi or English and reading comprehension.
Physical Tests, Medical Check and Final Merit
- The computer exam score decides who is called for the running test and physical measurements. The running test is called PET. The measurement check is called PST.
- To move ahead, candidates must complete the run in time and meet the measurement rules. SSC uses both physical tests as pass requirements.
- Candidates who clear both physical tests have a medical examination and must bring original certificates for checking.
- For final selection, SSC uses the computer exam score after adjusting for different exam shifts. Eligible NCC certificate bonus marks are added. Candidates must clear all the required checks.
