Selection Procedure for CAPF (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2025
1. Written Examination: Conducted by UPSC on 03rd August 2025, it includes two papers. Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence) carries 250 marks and is held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with objective-type questions in English and Hindi. Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension) carries 200 marks and is held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Essay can be written in English or Hindi, but the rest will be in English only. Paper II is evaluated only if Paper I is qualified.
2. Physical Standards Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the written exam will undergo PST & PET, which include height, weight, chest measurements (for men), and physical activities like races, long jump, and shot put. Candidates failing this stage won’t proceed further.
3. Interview/Personality Test: Candidates qualifying the physical tests will attend an interview conducted by UPSC, carrying 150 marks. NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate holders get preference.
4. Medical Standards Test: Medical tests will ensure candidates meet the required health standards. Unfit candidates can appeal within 24 hours.
5. Final Selection/Merit List: The merit list is prepared based on the combined marks of the written exam and interview, provided all physical and medical standards are met.
