Selection Procedure
1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Height Bar Test (HBT):
- Candidates undergo an initial Height Bar Test.
- PET:
- Male candidates: 1.6 Kms race in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
- Female candidates: 800 meters race in 4 minutes.
- Ex-servicemen are exempt from PET.
- PST:
- Candidates qualifying HBT and PET are screened for height, chest, and weight.
- Physical standards and relaxations are detailed in the document.
- Candidates failing physical standards may appeal to an Appellate Authority on the same day.
2. Documentation
- Original documents of candidates qualifying HBT, PET, and PST are scrutinized.
- Required documents include educational certificates, date of birth proof, domicile certificate, caste certificates (if applicable), and other relevant documents.
- Failure to produce required original documents results in elimination.
3. Trade Test
- Candidates passing HBT, PET, PST, and Documentation undergo a Trade Test.
- Qualifying test assessing practical skills specific to the trade.
- Examples: Cooking for Cook trade, cutting/stitching for Tailor trade, AC/DC current knowledge for Electrician trade.
4. Written Examination
- Candidates qualifying PET/PST, Documentation, and Trade Test are called for the written exam.
- Format: OMR/Computer Based Test (CBT), objective type, 100 marks, 2-hour duration.
- Syllabus: General Awareness/General Knowledge, elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude, basic Hindi/English knowledge.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for UR/EWS/Ex-Servicemen; 33% for SC/ST/OBC.
- No negative marking; normalization applied if conducted in multiple shifts.
5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
- Candidates qualifying all prior stages are shortlisted based on written exam performance.
- Shortlisting: Approximately two times the number of vacancies.
- Medical Boards assess physical and medical fitness; candidates declared FIT or UNFIT.
- Unfit candidates can opt for a Review Medical Examination (RME) with written consent.
Final Selection
- Merit list prepared based on aggregate marks in the written examination.
- Final result published on the CISF Recruitment website.
- CISF reserves the right to change the order of stages if needed.
